Second Call for Papers for a 2010 Special Issue of /Archivaria/ "Archives and the Law"*

The law has a tremendous impact on the work of archivists. Laws, such as those pertaining to copyright, privacy, and tax, impinge on basic archival functions from acquisition and appraisal to access and use of archival records. More than ever, archivists must be aware of legislation and how it affects their work. For these reasons, /Archivaria/ #69 (Spring 2010) will be devoted to "Archives and the Law". Jean Dryden and Loryl MacDonald will serve as Guest Editors of this special issue.

* access and privacy legislation

* cultural property law

* electronic records and evidence law

* tax law

* how archivists learn about law

*Deadline for expressions of interest:*
