So far, many of the respondents to my initial query have joined the group, and the document I compiled from their responses has been posted there. The group is publicly accessible, so anyone can read posts and files, but you have to be a member to post anything.

I doubt the group will generate heavy traffic, but considering the general lack of published guidance for this sub-sub-subset of descriptive practices, and considering that it cuts across multiple professional communities, a specialized forum seemed potentially helpful. I hope folks will consider using it to share questions and ideas.
